B20-01-01 Public Bin Reform

IRC can announce that the council have agreed to reform the use and types of public bins across the region. Working with Aragon Direct Services, the Council has started a pilot scheme using an App to measure the usage of public bins and build a database to enable a fair assessment of bin requirements for specific locations.

The IRC Bulletin was shared with the council, and as a result, a small working group consisting of PCC, IRC, PLW and ADS reports to the council's DEBRIS WORKSHOP every quarter to report on progress.

You might also start to notice DOG WASTE decals on most public bins. This is the first step in reforming how the council collect waste.

There are hundreds of public Bins to assess, and

it will take time, so please be patient and watch this space.
