B10-01-01 Hotspot Levelling

The IRC continues to receive reports and findings regarding ongoing issues of fly-tipping and heavy littering. These problems occur daily and are accompanied by anti-social behaviour, drug abuse, and frequent encampments in some locations. Local volunteer groups (PLW especially) have been collecting thousands of bags of litter and various loose fly-tipped items, including bedding, bicycles, and clothing. These conditions pose a serious public health risk. If a more permanent solution is not implemented, these issues will continue to drain valuable resources from the council and unnecessarily increase costs for taxpayers. Therefore, the IRC is now urging the council to take decisive action to prevent further deterioration of these areas. We aim to restore the locations identified in section 3 of this IRC Bulletin, making them safer and significantly reducing the financial burden on council taxpayers
